Preservation planning addresses scope, timing, access, and source conditions.

Scope and Timing

Data365 proceeds under a client-approved scope and with authorization to access the identified sources.
Where relevant, the approved scope also defines date ranges, data categories, folders, and other limits.
Preservation timing accounts for known deadlines, retention limits, access changes, and device reassignment or turnover dates.
Continued use of a device, account, or system can narrow the preservation window or alter available acquisition options.
Data365 Evidence assesses each source and selects the technical method within the approved scope. For drives and devices, the acquisition level requires client approval.
Written approval is required before adding sources, expanding scope, or changing an approved acquisition method.

The approved scope covers all devices, accounts, repositories, and other sources to be preserved.
Data365 records source conditions that affect preservation method or timing.

Provider restrictions, including export limits and time-sensitive download links, can affect preservation.
